    Angeblich unterstützt Google auch seit einiger Zeit den Nachfolger des SSL Standards TLS. Wenn dieser als Verschlüsselungsmethode gewählt wird, muss über Port 5222 anstat über 5223 verbunden werden.

    Sprachübertragung und Dateitransfer werden nicht unterstützt; man wird bei anderen Nutzern so angezeigt, als würde man den Webmessenger auf der Google-Seite verwenden (ohne Telefonsymbol).
